2006: What Questions Did I Ask?

Interestingly, 2006 was a year of restoration for me. A year which I'll never forget. A year where God had brought me from trials after trials, failures after failures, leading to assurance and success each time I face trials and failures. Questions that I've ask and ask came answered and I guess I've to believe that God is really working in my life.

At the service yesterday (just a few hours ago), the sermon was about questions. When I was listening to the sermon, I realized that I've been asking questions to God for various parts of my life. Whether it is regarding about relationships, studies, family, I asked God for blessings and I thank Him for the good and bad things in my life. No matter what happens, I know God is with me always. Thereafter, we had dinner at Great World City. =)

Story Telling? What is Jenn sharing about?

Let's ask Chris! Errr.....
Shawn: Hear No Evil!

Giving thanks to my Lord Jesus Christ for the following:
1) Justin - for composing 2 songs with me, one was reviewed by Jenn which is called "None Can Compare" and the other song is "Everlasting Hope"
2) Cheryl - for being a good listener and friend
3) Jenn - for being supportive in many things in my life and ministry
4) Army matters, Car accident, Bursary, Choices Forum, SMU Advanced Placement Programme and other matters that happened
5) Band & Cell - for being there for me when I needed you all.

Besides all these, I thank God for providing me the finance and everything that I need. Even when I need to change my shoes, such a simple thing, it was provided, since I saved up some money. Thanks Justin for my Christmas present, I love it! Thanks Ginny for catching up with me. Thanks Cheryl for the chats in the late nights!

My New Adidas

As usual, I prefer bright colours!

A Gift from Justin!

Nice hor?

Reminds me of the exercise books we used in school.
But I still appreciate and love it coz it's from my Buddy!

A gift from Jean, some time ago!
Yet to name it but I guess it shall be called.....
"OctoLime"

For the coming year, there will be many questions ahead. In terms of relationships, studies, career, ministry, family and many others. I know God will answer them in due time. I thank God for many wise people around me. My greatest dream/wish is to know more people and be involved in their lives, starting with the Music Ministry, Poly Cell and RP prayer group.

To end off, I'm really blessed by the ministry for the many things you've done. Look forward to strengthening our ministry and look forward to serving with each and everyone!

Be Blessed!

SMU, Here I Come!

Exactly one week away from SMU and I'll be having lessons at SMU every Wednesday morning, 8:30am. Looks like I'll be making new friends and Shuan is in my class! Yeah, probably slog for the first 18 days of January and spending hours in SMU since we got access to nice places to do our FYP.

Since Sunday, I had a hard time sleeping and each day, I have to keep watch of my life. Every night or rather morning, I sleep at 4am and this is crazy. FYP is driving me nuts I think. If not, relationships actually kills me. Putting it aside, I felt really relaxed. Feeling very vexed and troubled, I finally give it up to God and I think He will bring it to light and provide me everything that I need.

SMU got power & network points everywhere!
RP, better wake up your idea!

Went to SMU to matriculate and the admin building is super nice! Shuan and I were like..... WOW! If RP would be that great hor..... LOL. Wondering why would SMU students be so nice to serve us? Coz they are paid like $8/hr just for this matriculation. LOL. =) I believe I'll take this opportunity to serve God and reach out to people coz they need JESUS! Happy on the outside but I'm still a little upset on the inside. Relationships usually hurt people the most. They can also bless many too. But I know my best friend will never hurt me. And that's why everyone needs Jesus!

Shuan & my SMU card

LOL! Isn't it nice? I hope so.....
This card is RFID enabled! Tested and proven!

Took some photos of Shuan & my SMU access card. I look quite dumb lor. But in any case, this is the only card that I really had a great smile on my face and cannot really see my eyes. LOL. We reach SMU at 2:30pm and left around 6:30pm. LOL. Student Lounge is big (only at SIS - School of Info Systems). Looks like I'll enjoy SMU for the next 4 months.

Many things aside, I'll be concentrating my energy on the most precious things. Relationships such as BGR will have to put aside till my heart is fully ready, though I have someone in my mind and I feel that it's her. But I guess let God be the centre of my decisions. I'm tired of being the one running my own life without full surrender to the Lord Jesus, my best friend and soulmate.

After a night of discussions for the FYP, Shuan left my place with a big bag of equipment and stuff. Bro, sorry for the domain thingy..... =( but all is doing well. We'll be doing our FYP and endure the tiredness for the next 20+ days.

Love you, Jesus! You are so awesome. Thanks for those who cares for me. I love you all! Esp Justin and Cheryl!

Be Blessed!

Christmas Surprises!

Just came back from Orchard by bus. Didn't manage to say goodbye to all but I guess chasing my bus was more important. I had a great time playing for Youth Service! It's kinda like my first time with Amphora as I play with Tehillah that time in Sept.

Though I made some mistakes but I guess it was fun. Worship is about God..... it should be fun and it must be, since God is fun loving! Anyway, I received some Christmas presents from Music Ministry and my Cell Leader, Wen Jie! Spot on, Cheryl bought for me something I kinda need and really appreciate her kindness and generosity. Been blessed by this sister! She's the only nice girl commenting on my blog, besides Justin, who is the only guy to comment most of the time. Bought a bible for myself and for Justin. It's the same bible and it's cool! Totally cool!

Given by Cheryl. Thanks, Sis! Love it!

By my beloved cell leader, Wen Jie.
**but the boomerang isn't user-friendly (doesn't fly back)**

My new bible..... on Worship! Same as Justin's gift.

A card from Justin. Thanks, buddy!

Simple to read. Sample of Proverbs 3:5-6
Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

Ended the day at Pepper Lunch with Jenn, John, Justin, Gabriel, Evie, Tab, Cerise. Shawn, Shermaine and Gerald came to join us and we all went to Heeren. I had a great chat with Jenn. Finally, I was sharing my plans for next year and I'm seeing it happening. But for now, I need to clear FYP, my personal struggles and of course, my work, etc. Preparing for SMU, gonna reach out during this period of time.

Cookies from Jenn + John!

Sweets from Lisa!

My new hairdo..... not really new, I trimmed it.

For now, I'll leave it as it is and show some pictures of the gifts. Really appreciate it. Nice to have all the people supporting me, etc. I love you all! Advance together. Hope those who received my cards like it. Those who didn't, you will receive yours someday!

Be Blessed!

Attitude Determines The Altitude

Today, I had a tough time understanding the purpose of music practice. During the whole session, I was struggling as I couldn't identify the ultimate purpose. The intense feeling deep down in my heart tells me..... Just worship God, just worship Me..... says the Lord.

I was almost in tears but I kept it deep within me. Deep in my heart, something just tell me to relax. All of us seemed tired but overall..... I guess it was alright. Throughout the session, I felt weird, tough and uncomfortable about the noise levels. To me, it was just noise being produced. Even though I was playing the acoustic guitar, it seems like noise to me.

What was truly music was our heart's desire for God. I lay my pride aside as I sat on the floor wondering what God was thinking. Laying my knowledge aside, laying my everything to Him. As I worship God, I played the guitar. Nothing else matter. As I offered up my everything, it made me realized that all we need to do is to worship Him and nothing else. Leaving technicalities aside, leaving my self-centered being aside.

As I settled my issues with God after the practice, I realized that it's crucial to maintain that relationship strong and even with the members in the band. Most importantly, be considerate to one another's needs. Our attitude towards each other will determine the altitude of our relationship with God and fellow band-mates.

I've learned from the band today. Hope and pray that we'll sync on Youth Christmas Outreach on Saturday! Love the band, love everyone.

Be Blessed!

After the SIT Camp Team Leaders' meeting, ate lunch with some of the leaders and went to Somerset to get my MacBook Pro checked. Some cosmetic defects though. Not to worry, miracles will come. LOL. Before I continue..... Happy Birthday, Josh!

Met up with Justin for snacks and mini-shopping! Guess who we saw? Genie!! Sugene! Long time no see her. Her songs are very nice lor. Support her okay? Anyway, continue your hard work..... Went to TCC to chill-lax and ordered the pumpkin soup although we wanted our Forest Mushrooms..... guess what? The waitress came out and told us there's no more pumpkin soup but they are preparing the Forest Mushrooms soup!!

Personality + Youth Christmas Service

Personality is the unique, limitless part of our life that makes us distinct from everyone else. The only person who can fully understands us is our Creator. Personality is the characteristic mark of the inner, spiritual man, just as individuality is the characteristic of the outer, natural man.

Isn't it amazing? I mean as I was reading my devotional, I was pondering about what it means to have personality. While reading, I was reminded of God being creative and understanding. Only He can understand our personality. On the other hand, revealing that outer character to others seems to be an indication of your life, etc. While personality helps in getting the inner characteristic to work, it seems harder to surrender what's on the outer layer.

Before I forget, let me publicize this.....
Do come for the Youth Christmas Service!

Youth Christmas Service
23rd December 2006 (Saturday)
6pm (party starts at 5:30pm at The Plaza)
Church Of Our Saviour Auditorium

Ever since the Music Advance, it's been 2 days and I haven't got my engine to move. Moving along with God will take some time but I'll do my best. I'm not as addicted to the net as before and for now, I'll need to concentrate on my FYP. Dateline is mid-Jan and I'm still chill-laxing. LOL. Tomorrow is Evangelizer and I'm still not prepared for it. Gotta go to school tomorrow for the Staff Learning Retreat (which I will address it as Advance).

It's been a privilege to serve the school and even in church. I guess from that sharing session on the last day of Music Advance, I'm set that God is really listening to me and there are changes each day and I can truly feel the intensity each day. Submitting and surrendering my outer layer to Him. Getting rid of masks and other personality flaws by the cleansing of my Heart and renewal of my mind.

With God (HE), I can truly serve Him with my talents (ART), with both God and talents, He can mold my HEART to bring out that ART. Am I being complex? LOL.

Be Blessed!

Finally, I'm back home from HangOut@Mt.Emily and starting to blog the Music Advance 2006 updates. Photos and Videos will be up shortly. The presence of the Lord was present and we had many chances to share our lives. I hope we took the opportunity to know each other better. Let's continue building the kingdom of God rather than keeping things to ourselves. I pray that the team will be involved in each and everyone's life, whether big or small. Never ceasing to help each other rise up to the same level. It's never easy. We need to rise up and move together. Let's help each other understand things better.

**To be continued.....**

Had the chance to talk to the people I wanna talk to and esp staying in the same room. I guess God must be speaking to all the leaders. LOL! I finally hear more and more of God's word and shared more and more. There are more to come! This is just the beginning. Today was the last session and also the most meaningful moment as Pastor Jenn shared the Vision and direction for the ministry and church for the next 2 years. Oh yeah, Joline and I are officially playing next year. There are many plans being mentioned. I thank God for rising us up and we're young. There's lots to learn.

Moments captured in Live Video.....

Meanwhile, while I upload the photos and update this blog again, just read this entry and pray for us if you are reading this blog. Pray for the team and pray for God's kingdom to grow bigger and bigger.

I love you all, Music Ministry! Amphora, Tehillah and SE! Most importantly, thanks to my buddy, Justin and my 'partner-in-crime', Joline for being entertaining and good listener. Thanks Nat, Zhong Guo, Jean, Shan Yu and others who I got to know better. It was a great Advance and remember, it's just the beginning. Love ya all!

Be Blessed!
