What is Worship?

I woke up at 9am this morning. It was an awesome experience. Even I'm shocked about my changed life though there are much to change. It takes time. I took out my Yamaha guitar [with black diamond strings] and worshipped the Lord with it. I sang a new song and I was enjoying the prayers that I made.

As I was preparing the Word, I was emerged with the Spirit and He guided me through it all. I was amazed at the revelation of His word. Didn't plan to go church today as I was supposed to attend Poly Forum training. But I can sense the Lord's prompting. I obeyed and I really think that it's worth it. I could have lost a valuble lesson. Went for sec 1 cell and led worship. It was really great, seeing them starting to open their mouths, focusing (though it's really difficult for them) and moving in the Spirit.

Pretty much blessed during the 4:30pm prayer meeting at room 306. Marcus, who don't really know me well, prayed for me as Pastor Jenn asked for a mini alter call. As he was praying for me, I could sense the Lord speaking to me. Marcus prayed and said, listen to that still small voice. Take time to listen. Be still. I was like amazed as that's what I really need to do then! I teared as he was praying. I felt the Holy Spirit within me.

At service, as Pastor Jenn was preaching, she quoted:

"What is worship? Take away the songs - the notes, the tunes, the chords, and the words - and cut out your abilities, your capabilities, blessings, problems... everything you have, and everything you are...

And it should still be there."

I hope I remember that, always. I learnt that a worship leader doesn't even need his or her own voice to lead people into worship, as long as there is something to communicate to the people one is leading.

I'm impressed by those words. She didn't reveal the person's name. Pastor Jenn was referring to someone's blog and I shall not reveal it too. Worship is not about defining it. It doesn't equate to head knowledge.

3 truths I've learnt today to sum up the lesson:
A worshipper
- focuses on God, not on him or herself.
- pleases God, not him or herself.
- worships at all times.

After the service, we had our dinner with the cell as usual. We stayed till almost 10pm and decided to move off. While sending Jean home, we met my RP Mentor (Shirley - also my MAC IG advisor) at the North East line area. So coincidental!! Anyway, I'm really grateful that Jean came for cell and service and hope to see her coming and growing! [She lost her way, ended up at Ikea today] - that was when I was in 4:30pm prayer meeting. Thank God as I was praying, I prayed that she wouldn't lost her way in the end. Thx Gab for giving her directions. I could have missed the mini alter call if I've picked up the phone when Jean called.

Signed up for the workshop for Jean & myself, Jesus - Only Way or Greatest Liar?
Hope we will learn something out of it.

The most important issue is that I'm set for change. Flee from being Idle. Hope it works.

Prison?? Cell??

Yoz!! I'm back again! I'm so glad that I went to cell yesterday!

That experience cannot be bought with money. I was looking forward to cell. Met Jean at 5pm and we went to the library till 6pm..... then we went to the hawker near my church and eat dinner. Then cell began.. with Esther leading worship! Thx Esther for the effort. It was awesome. God's presence is indeed soothing.

After cell, Jean was about to leave. Then my cell members asked me to send her off. In the end, we [Gab, Julian, Jean & me] ended up at Peng Chye's (PC) house for dinner/supper. Jean was impressed I think. His house is cool, okay!!

Sent Jean home after the dinner/supper. Gotta know her better after Thursday. Always had an impression that she was quiet. I guess we can never assume things. LOL. It was great having her around for cell. To Jean, she was thinking.. why is it called 'Cell'?? I'm wondering why is it called 'Cell'?? Cell = Prison?? haha.. LOL.. someone, please help me out. Thanks!

----- That's for Thursday at Cell -----

Was out for lunch with Jean today. We went to Redhill market with her friend, Michelle. Ate noodles [Ban Mian] and had a great time chatting with both of them. Went back to class, finished up my work in less than 30 minutes. Wah!! haha.. LOL.

Had dinner and dance 06 meeting and thereafter, Jean was outside my class. Waiting for this guy lah.. I was playing game.. SORRY!! haha.. anyway, we went to the bus stop and the SAs [Huda, Yani, Small Zul & Jason] involved in YLMP called my name! haha.. Jean and I decided to follow them and eat McDonald's at Bras Basah.

After a while, we felt very extra as they were discussing about the mentoring issues. Then we left and went to Bugis Junction. Walked around, stopped at Kinokuniya to look at books. To my amazement, Jean actually collects tons of comics. I wonder if her room is a storeroom?? After the crazy time at Kinokuniya, sent her back home and took that favourite bus 58 (it's right in front of her place and reaches my area).

Really enjoyed the time. Hey, Jean! Remember service is at 6pm at COOS hor.. COOS = Church Of Our Saviour, in case you forget. heehee. You'll enjoy the service! =) Hey, all.. don't anyhow think hor.. Anyway, thanks everyone who helped in various ways. Especially praying for me.

Special thanks to Peter Tan, my accountability; Pastor Jennifer, my worship pastor and encourager; and to those who prayed for me and I promise to wait for that tomorrow!

Oh yah!! I'm gonna be playing the Acoustic Guitar at Baptism Service on the 18th Sept 2005. Please come for the Baptism Service as David Bey is getting baptised. Pray for me as I serve during the service. Pray for a loving, contrite heart.

Thanks be to God.

Life's not boring after all!!

Yesterday was a hectic and yet enjoyable day!

It was Web Multimedia UT and it was like kinda tricky as usual. Though it was tricky, I still have to finish it and I hope I can get my 'A' this time. Got two 'B+' and I think it's not good enough. LOL. High expectations for this semester.

Was busy doing the OS ppt and was at the fund raising stall + the STA's Generator launch. guess it was just weird to be doing my ppt while having fun with the SAs, especially when we are trying to sell our items. Too bad, didn't get a chance to win the Macromedia Studio MX. *sigh*

Back in class, it was the usual presentation and I wondered if I've learnt anything. Guess more of the facts came through my ITE days. Not much research was done, honestly. After the hectic presentation, went to the fund raising meeting, supposedly doing the keychains. Still it was quite late already and went for the Cypher MC meeting. Had a fruitful time as well as knowing that we are really pressed for time for the SA dreamscape and fund raising thing.

At least we did our best and came out with our dream, fulfilling the idea we set upon! Here are some pictures of our works!

I really must applause the SAs who put in so much effort in this. Although I only painted part of the white background. LOL. Thanks to Cuiting who came out with the idea and pushed for this project to success. I'm sure we are proud of SA and would do anything within our reach and beyond our reach too. Thanks for giving each other the affirmation.

It's quite cool to work with each other, messing up and enjoying the presence of one another. Keep up the great work!!

Quoted by our dearest SA advisor, David Lee:
You guys did a great job with the SA Dreamscape panel! What an excellent design that portrays the spirit of SA, a design that says that SA is all about PEOPLE! And the black-and-white look is so artistic looking. Great job indeed, and thanks for all your hard work. All that is left to do now is stick the three-dimensional SA wording in the center. I can’t wait to see it being displayed on campus!

I'm sure that our SAs are encouraged and hope to see you all at the next two events! SA Family Day and SA Teambuilding Camp!!

Finally, to all who have been praying for me since last week, I really appreciate the advices given. I'm pressing on and would be in cell group tomorrow. There's gonna be a great awakening in cell tomorrow!

Praise God for whom all blessings flow.

Times of Refreshing + Reflections

As I was playing guitar for Thursday cell, I felt that I was just playing. Even though I could worshipped. Even though I could feel the spirit, something just wasn't right.

On Saturday, during the sec 1 cell, I was really disturbed. I felt that I've 'wasted' my time in there. I couldn't explain why was that so. As I came into His presence during the service, I broke down. If an imperfect man can even have the heartbeat of God, what am I? Who am I? As I kneeled and bow before the Lord, it was a commitment once again. I've sinned too much. Spare the details. I know my deeds, intentions and my wrongdoings.

Serving as it is at that moment just lost its essence. What picked me up was Him. Still it is God who strengthens me. No wonder it is stated in the scriptures. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Through Who? Through Christ!!

As I set apart my 2 weeks of time to the Lord, I seek Him for forgiveness, for the foolish folly mistakes and to ask forgiveness from people whom I've hurt. It really takes lots of humility, effort and courage to do it. I hope that my cell members will be praying for me. I can't just attend cell without growing, without ownership and without passion.

Sorry if I've to take my break right now. I really need a refreshing + reflection time. May the Lord bless this time of consecration. Love my poly cell, sec 1 cell and Amphora (Band 2).
